Weโve been living in Koh Samui for four years now, and beach clubs have very much become part of our everyday life here. Theyโre where we spend lazy afternoons, celebrate birthdays, and catch up with friends.
Since this guide was last updated seven months ago, Samuiโs beach club scene has moved fast. Thatโs the thing about living here: places open, evolve, relocate and level up. We’re making it our mission to keep you in the loop. This guide is regularly refreshed, so youโre not relying on outdated recommendations.
If youโre a mid-luxe traveller looking for beautiful settings, good food and drinks, relaxed but polished vibes, and places that feel worth your time (and money), youโre in the right place. Whether you want a chilled daytime hangout, a poolside lunch spot, or somewhere for sunset drinks and great parties, these are the beach clubs we genuinely love.
To make things easy, weโve broken this guide down by area, so you can plan around where youโre staying.
Choose your area:
Bophut & Bangrak
Chaweng
Choengmon & Plai Laem
Bangpor
Lipa Noi
BEACH CLUBS IN BOPHUT & BANGRAK
Bophut and Bangrak sit on the north side of Koh Samui, with beautiful views across the water to Koh Phangan. Weโve chosen six beach clubs in this area that tick all the boxes: great food, DJs and live music, solid happy hour deals, loungers, beanbags, and beach seating.
While Bophut Beach isnโt known for having the softest sand (itโs a little coarser here), Bangrak offers much whiter, softer sand, though youโll notice more boat traffic on this side of the island. What both areas do exceptionally well is atmosphere. These are all beautifully designed venues, and theyโre some of our most visited beach clubs on the island.
If youโre staying in Fishermanโs Village, Bangrak, or nearby, this is an easy and brilliant place to spend a beach day that rolls into sunset drinks.

The restaurant offers a variety of cuisine, from Spanish tapas to traditional Thai food and everything in between and the vegetarian and vegan options here are some of the best weโve found in Koh Samui. Our top foodie picks are the gambas a pil pil, prawn & mango salsa mini tacos and the grilled local fish with white bean stew.
The location of the club means you get some fantastic sunset views, which is made even more spectacular by the BOGOF happy hour cocktails available from 5 โ 7pm, our recommendation would be the margaritas or a classic mojito.

79 Beach Club
- Google Maps Location [linked]
- Regular ticketed events & Sunday fire shows

One of the newest beach clubs on the island, 79 Beach Club has made a big impression in a very short space of time, especially for its international DJ bookings and high-energy poolside vibe. Theyโre well known for hosting big names on the house music scene, with Roger Sanchez recently taking to the decks, alongside regular resident DJs throughout the week.
Set just 9 minutes from the airport on Bangrak Beach, 79 is open to all ages, making it a rare spot that balances party energy with a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere. Itโs a large, impressive beachfront venue with a pool, private beach access, cocktails, Italian-style pizzas, and sunset sessions.
Thereโs a minimum spend on some of the day beds, plus rotating happy hours and promotions, but these can change frequently. The website isnโt always fully up to date, so weโd definitely recommend checking their Instagram page for the latest DJ line-ups, events, and offers before you go.
If youโre looking for a beach club with serious music credentials, a buzzing atmosphere, and one of the biggest setups on the island, 79 Beach Club is well worth adding to your list.

The Door

The Door has recently relocated from Lamai to Bangrak Beach and reopened as a sleek, modern beach club with a stylish lounge and restaurant. The menu features a mix of Western and Thai dishes, making it an easy spot to settle in for the day, whether youโre stretched out on a sunbed or relaxing in the shaded lounge with a drink in hand. With DJs playing daily, the atmosphere is lively, social, and great fun.
In the evening, enjoy one of Thailandโs iconic fire shows, performed every night from 7:30 pm, making it a great spot to stay on from sunset into the night.

BEACH CLUBS IN CHAWENG
Chaweng is the beating heart of Koh Samuiโs nightlife and party scene. This is where youโll find the largest stretch of white sand beach, a high concentration of beach clubs, and a buzz that runs from lazy daytime lounging straight through to late-night parties.
By day, Chaweng is all about sunbeds, cocktails, DJs, and long lunches by the sea. By night, the energy ramps up with international DJs, beachfront parties, and some of the most lively venues on the island.
Weโve narrowed it down to three of our favourite beach clubs in Chaweng. Each one delivers on atmosphere, great music, and excellent service.

Cabanas

Cabanas Beach Club Koh Samui brings a new level of luxury and laid-back fun to the shores of Chaweng Beach. With a sleek design and serious beach vibes, itโs the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon or a lively evening with ocean-facing pools, beautiful cabanas, and handcrafted cocktails served with a side of sunset jazz.
What sets Cabanas apart is its blend of beachside relaxation and live entertainment. You can sip rosรฉ in the pool, join a wellness session, or catch live music as the sun goes down. Violin Vibes on Mondays and Sunset Jazz on Tuesdays add something special to your week. Thereโs also a rotating line-up of movie nights, art events, and pop-up experiences, so no two visits feel the same.
Foodies will love the social dining concept, which brings people together over vibrant dishes and creative cocktails in a relaxed but stylish atmosphere. Oh, and did we mention theyโre sustainability-focused too? Cabanas is committed to eco-conscious hospitality, so you can indulge guilt-free.
If youโre looking for a beach club that offers style, soul, and a little something extra, Cabanas Beach Club deserves a spot on your Koh Samui itinerary.

Seen

Inspired by the 1950s this retro-themed beach club is decorated with bold colours, neon lights and pop art murals, but itโs the large central infinity pool with swim-up bar that’s the star of the show.
During the day, relax on a comfy poolside bed, sip on tropical cocktails, and enjoy the eclectic mix of food on offer whilst listening to a great party soundtrack from one of the many great resident DJs.
Then as the sun sets, be prepared to dance the night away at one of their weekly events, pool parties and weekend beach fire shows.
BEACH CLUBS IN PLAI LAEM & CHOENGMON
If youโre looking for pretty beaches and calmer vibes, Choeng Mon and Plai Laem are a dream combo. Located in the north-east of Koh Samui, this area is known for soft white sand, shallow turquoise water, and a more laid-back, boutique feel compared to Chaweng.
Choeng Mon is especially popular with couples, families, and mid-luxe travellers who want great food, comfortable loungers, and a chilled soundtrack rather than all-day parties. Plai Laem sits just around the corner, with beautiful views, easy access to the airport, and a handful of stylish venues that focus on atmosphere and quality over crowds.
Weโve started this section with one of our favourites to get you inspired, and weโll be adding more beach clubs here as we continue to update the guide, because this side of the island really does have some gems worth knowing about.
Carnival Beach Village
- Google Maps Location [linked]
- Free entry, no minimum spend
- Free parking

If youโre travelling with kids or just want an easy, no-pressure beach club day, Carnival Beach Village is a brilliant choice. Set on Choeng Mon Beach, this is one of the most family-friendly beach clubs on the island, with a large swimming pool, swim-up pool bar, plenty of loungers and deck chairs, and a dedicated kidsโ area that makes it relaxing for parents too.
Entry is free, parking is free, and thereโs no minimum spend, which is refreshingly rare in Samui. The menu is packed with crowd-pleasers, burgers, sandwiches, easy poolside bites, a solid Thai corner, plus a big cocktail list and happy hour deals, including beer buckets for those lazy beach afternoons. Thereโs also a spacious restaurant and a laid-back outdoor decking area if youโd rather sit down for a longer lunch.
The beach here is ideal for families too, with soft white sand and calm, shallow water, perfect for little ones. One small thing to note: youโll need to bring your own towels, but honestly, with everything else on offer, itโs a small trade-off.
BEACH CLUBS IN BANGPOR
Bangpor is all about slowing things down. This quieter stretch of coastline on the north-west of Koh Samui is known for its long, peaceful beach, soft sand, and seriously good sunsets. Itโs a favourite with travellers who want a more laid-back vibe without being completely cut off, relaxed beach days, a handful of low-key beach venues, and uninterrupted views. If your idea of a perfect afternoon involves cold drinks, your feet in the sand, and zero rush, Bangpor is the place to be.
Karma Two Palms Beach

If youโre looking for a stylish beach club that welcomes kids and keeps parents happy, Karma Two Palms on Bang Por Beach is a must-visit. This oceanfront spot blends barefoot luxury with warm Thai hospitality and European charm, with a brilliant happy hour cocktail menu, a games room for the kids, and even foam parties on special family days.
Itโs a fantastic all-rounder for families: kids can enjoy the beach, climb and play on the on-site playground, or battle it out in the games room with ping pong, while grown-ups chill out with a glass of wine or a speciality cocktail.
Beach Club Highlights:
- Games room with ping pong table + climbing frame
- Soft sandy beach, with calm shallow water, perfect for paddling
- Sunset happy hour daily from 5โ7pm (win!)
- Regular fire shows on Saturdays and Sundays
- Monthly family fun days with foam parties and inflatables
Whether youโre visiting for a beachy brunch or cocktails and fire shows after dark, Karma Two Palms has something for everyone.

BEACH CLUBS IN LIPA NOI
Lipa Noi sits on the west coast of the island and is one of Samuiโs most serene beach areas. The sea here is shallow and calm, the sunsets are some of the best on the island, and the overall pace feels noticeably slower. Beach clubs here tend to lean towards relaxed luxury rather than serious party vibes, making it a lovely spot for long lunches, sunset drinks, and unhurried afternoons by the sea.
Nikki Beach

Nikki Beach is a vibrant and modern beach club set on the west of Koh Samui, which is lucky to enjoy some of the best sunset views on the island. Expect regular live performances, beach barbecues and delicious cocktails; it’s definitely the place to be in Lipa Noi.
We visited during the low season so it was quiet, however, if you’re heading here during peak time we’d recommend booking your comfy poolside bed well in advance.
It’s by far one of the most expensive beach clubs in Koh Samui and I guess that comes with the brand, quite honestly, we’ve not had the best experiences when we’ve visited and the prices certainly do not reflect the service you receive. It’s a beautiful location and the decor is Instagram worthy, but if you’re staying in Bophut, Chaweng or Lamai areas, there are plenty of other great beach clubs to visit that are closer and better quality in our opinion.
Thereโs so much to see and do in Koh Samui, but make sure to set aside at least one day in your itinerary to soak up the vibes at one of these top beach clubs. Theyโre the perfect place to relax, indulge and partyโbasically, to feel like a total rockstar for the day.

How do u not include 79?
We had a very bad experience on our first visit to 79 Beach Club. It was very confusing and very expensive; we were told we could only sit in certain areas, despite there being only a handful of other visitors, unless we wanted to pay a very high minimum spend. Having to add money to wristbands to make payments also seemed unnecessary, as this is not a common practice in any other beach club that we’ve visited in Samui. Overall we were just made to feel unwelcome, the prices seemed incredibly high, the menu was limited and we just didn’t get a good first impression. Maybe it has changed over the past few months but this is why it hasn’t been included on the list as we give genuine reviews of venues we’ve visited.
