The Best Beach Clubs in Koh Samui – Updated for 2023

We have now spent almost a full year living in Koh Samui and one of our favourite things to do on a sunny weekend is to head out in search of a great beach club. We’re passionate about good food, good wine and great service and we love sharing our best finds with others.

Now, I want you to picture this; a beautiful sunny day in Koh Samui, and there’s not a cloud in the sky. You’re swimwear-ready, relaxing on a comfy lounger by the pool overlooking the beach, with a nice glass of something cold and bubbly. It’s the perfect daytime atmosphere, a buzz in the air, there’s a DJ playing the perfect mix of tunes, and you can hear the sound of the sea. You need a break from all this tanning so you head over to the restaurant to enjoy a long and leisurely lunch of the freshest local foods all washed down with the finest wines. Then as the sun sets the volume is amped up and you’ve got front-row seats to one of Thailand’s famous beach fire shows… sound good? Then keep reading for the BEST BEACH CLUBS IN KOH SAMUI.

BEACH CLUBS IN BOPHUT BEACH & BANGRAK

The Deck

Tucked away to the east of Bophut Beach, The Deck, opened its doors in August 2022, effortlessly combining comfort with elegance, making it a popular destination for solo holidaymakers, couples, groups and families. Vibrant murals and floating beanbags create a visually captivating ambience, with a subtle infusion of brilliant orange hues adding warmth to the chic setting. Whether you’re lounging under the sun with a cheeky cocktail or enjoying a delicious lunch on the covered terrace, The Deck invites guests to enjoy a curated experience where every moment is an invitation to indulge in the finer things in life.

As day transitions into night, witness some of the most beautiful sunsets on the island whilst top local and international DJs set the mood and the curated wine list adds sophistication to the evening, making it the perfect location for any celebration. The dedicated staff ensure impeccable service, completing the fusion of relaxation and sophistication that defines The Deck.

Chi

Chi is a high-end luxury beach club, located on Bangrak Beach, with a 25m saltwater infinity pool and swim-up bar. Visit to enjoy international DJs, weekend fire shows, modern cuisine, inventive cocktails and a five-page menu of cannabis-infused food and drink. The decor here is cool and laidback with touches of luxury, with a temperature-controlled wine room, a huge and decorative wooden pool table, a dining table that doubles as a waterfall, plenty of cushioned and comfy bar swings, and floating beanbags for the pool.

Famous for Sunday roasts, epic DJs and fire shows, and now that weed is legal in Thailand they’ve expanded the CBD range already on offer to include pre-rolled joints.

If you’re planning to visit on a weekend then you absolutely must book. Tables and sunloungers are free but the large daybeds and sofas both require a minimum spend per party of 5,000฿ (£118.50) & 3,000฿ (£71.20) respectively. Visit the ‘Contact‘ tab on the website to make an enquiry. An absolute must-visit for anyone looking for a great party venue with amazing food, a great wine list and a touch of luxury.

Tembo

A colonial-style beachfront property with comfortable cabanas, great music, daily happy hour deals, 3-for-2 Tapas on Tuesdays and weekly music events including a very cool saxophonist.

Tembo is a beautiful resort located on Bang Rak beach, just a 5-minute drive from Fisherman’s Village. Its beachy blue and white decor is relaxed and very chic, with floating beanbags, beachside love seats and comfortable cabanas [minimum spend of 1,000฿ (£23.75)].

The restaurant offers a variety of cuisine, from Spanish tapas to traditional Thai food and everything in between and the vegetarian and vegan options here are some of the best we’ve found in Koh Samui. Our top foodie picks are the gambas a pil pil, prawn & mango salsa mini tacos and the grilled local fish with white bean stew.

The location of the club means you get some fantastic sunset views, despite not being on the west coast, this is made even more spectacular by the BOGOF happy hour cocktails available from 5 – 7pm, our recommendation would be the margaritas or a classic mojito.
